Description
Shemalat is the god of judgment, and his central eye is representative of his watchfulness: these plaques are drilled into the inner-facing surface of prison doors to discourage escape.
Here ive taken the wax sprue tree and dipped it in a slurry (stucco) mix. Then i sifted silica granules over it (starting with 2 coats of fine granules for detail, then about 6-7 coats of coarse granules to build up the thickness). Each coat can take anywhere from half an hour to 2 hours to dry depending on the thickness of the slurry, so it takes quite a while. The silica sand is really awful to breathe (its basically glass dust), so I have to wear a respirator at all times when working in this stage.
